Art of the Dog Canine Academy serves Boulder from our Longmont academy, about 20 minutes up the road. Boulder dogs train in the same 21-day live-in board & train, with the same trainers, as every dog in our program. We specialize in the cases other programs turn down: reactive dogs, aggressive dogs, anxious dogs, and dogs that are simply hard to live with.
We’ll be straight with you: there is no Art of the Dog academy in Boulder. Our nearest one is in Longmont, about 20 minutes from Boulder, no drive down to Denver required. For most Boulder owners it’s the closest specialist board & train there is.
Your dog lives and trains on site in Longmont for the full 21 days. Same program, same trainers, daily photo and video updates the whole way through. The only thing different about a Boulder dog is the drop-off drive, and it’s a short one.
Boulder owners are outside. Open space, foothills trails, the creek path, the dog parks. The whole point of a dog here is having one you can take with you, and a dog that lunges at every passing hiker or can’t be trusted off-leash takes that away.
That’s the gap we close. By the end of the 21 days, the goal is a dog you can hike with, pass other dogs with, and trust in the open, so the trails Boulder is famous for are actually yours to share again.
Goose came in reactive, the exact problem that keeps so many Boulder-area owners off the trails they moved here for. The worry going in is always the same: will three weeks away change the dog you love into a different dog?
