Our Purpose

Our purpose is simple: We exist to help dogs and make people happy.

Our Story

Finding help for your dog is hard. We know first-hand. 

It was in our efforts to find help with our German Shepherd, Ulf that we found our love for training.

We pursued many styles of dog training each with its own set of beliefs and theories that sounded great, but ultimately did not work in giving us control over his reactivity. When we finally found balanced training, it changed our lives.

Wanting to help others with their dogs, we started Art of the Dog Canine Academy in 2019. Founded by brothers Ian and Will Lieberman, Art of the Dog is a family-owned business that started right here in our living room in Denver, Colorado.

We genuinely care about providing a service that delivers real results and that makes a difference in the lives of others. We want every single person who interacts with our company to have a wonderful and rewarding experience.

Across the state and beyond, we have had the pleasure of helping thousands of owners live better lives with their dogs and we cannot wait to help you.

Our Academy Features

  • Conveniently located in the heart of Denver, Colorado.
  • 5,000 sq ft training room (perfect for teaching our dogs in a low-distraction environment!)
  • Fully furnished "living room" area which allows our trainers to have plenty of bonding and snuggle time with your pups while also serving as a realistic training environment! It is important that all of the training we do translates realistically into your own home.
  • The biggest, safest, and most durable crates on the market. Our crates allow for comfort and spaciousness but also are escape-proof. Your dog's safety is always our number one priority.
  • A fenced-in outdoor yard and patio area designed to allow your dog quick access to potty-breaks. (All potty breaks are on-leash and in the company of a professional trainer).
  • Each dog will have its own personal bin in which all of their personal belongings will be safely stored.
  • A refrigerator and freezer for storing any medications or foodstuffs that require refrigeration.
  • Individual stainless steel bowls for food and water. Each dog will have their own individual set of bowls.
  • Meticulous record-keeping of potty-breaks and mealtimes, and a scale for monitoring the weight of all of our dogs. It is important for us to carefully track each individual dog to make sure they are eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom regularly.
  • Toys, toys, and more toys. (All toys are not ingestible)
  • Place beds, and any and all training equipment needed.
  • Full security system connected directly to all of our phones. We receive notifications for movement, noise, or any irregularity in temperature or air quality.
  • The entire facility is completely climate controlled.
  • A climate-controlled doggy-transport van fully equipped for transporting your pups around Denver for daily field trips to parks, walking-malls, and other dog-friendly public environments. Again, we want our training to mimic real-life situations, and having them train amidst real-life distractions is the only way to reliably achieve the results we are striving for.
  • A committed team of full-time, professional trainers.

It should go without saying, but all of our trainers are avid dog lovers who are 100% committed to delivering excellent training while providing your dog with the best possible care.
